Operating on airside

Whitehorse Airport 

  • An Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) is required to operate any motor vehicle on airside at a Yukon airport/aerodrome. 
  • Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) is required to access restricted areas at Whitehorse Airport. For more information contact the Pass Control Office at 867-667-8442.    

Permits only parking

  • Contractors - Park in our Permits only area if you are working at the airport for the day.
    • There is no overnight parking in this area.
    • If asked by Airport Security, individuals parking in this area must be prepared to demonstrate that they have received permission from Airport Administration.
    • Vehicles must have a commercial licence plate.
    • Vehicles must not park in leased stalls or in the Rentals parking area. Unauthorized vehicles parked in leased stalls may be towed by the leaseholder.

  • Drop off zone - The access lane in front of airport is a fire lane and you will be ticketed if you are parked or waiting in your vehicle in this area.
  • "No parking" areas - Vehicles parked in marked "no parking" areas will be ticketed and/or towed
