Fall 2015 Capital Projects

This is an update on the progress of Yukon government capital projects. An annual fall update is part of a process to increase awareness of how projects in the capital plan are advancing through each phase, from initiation, to planning to the final phase, implementation.

Yukon government’s capital planning is a multi-year process that identifies an overview of capital expenditure priorities.

Projects in the 2015 Fall Capital Update

Definitions

Initiation – the preliminary stages of the capital project process, typically demonstrated by the submission of a business case to the appropriate approval authority. The essential components of the capital project are identified and the project is submitted to be approved for planning.

Planning – the implementation/construction of a capital project is planned with accompanying timescale and budget. The plan is submitted for approval before implementation begins.

Implementation – the project plan is put into effect. This may involve issuing tenders for construction work, purchasing land and other activity to support construction. This phase ends when construction/implementation is finished.

*** Project timelines subject to legislative budget approval.

Projects and timelines are subject to change. The fall capital update will be updated monthly to incorporate any new information or changes.
