Procurement Improvements

The Government of Yukon is putting resources, policies and processes in place to improve government procurement.

These improvements will allow us to make the most of government investments to support economic activity and strengthen our communities.

We are responding to the 2016 Procurement Advisory Panel recommendations and to ongoing input provided by industry and First Nations with our Procurement Improvement Framework.

Procurement Business Committee

The Yukon government has set up a procurement business committee to foster collaboration with industry associations and First Nation development corporations. This advisory group will give input to implement and evaluate Yukon government’s procurement improvements from May 2018 through December 2019.

This new body will be chaired by the deputy minister of Highways and Public Works and will include representatives from each of the following business and government organizations:

  • Yukon First Nation development corporations
  • Yukon First Nations Chamber of Commerce
  • Yukon Chamber of Commerce
  • Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce
  • Dawson City of Commerce
