Rose River Bridge Improvements Project
Highways and Public Works completed the project on budget and reopened the bridge for traffic on June 15, 2009.

Work Completed During 2009
- Rotten timber piers (supports) were replaced with steel H piles (columns)
- Rotten timber abutments were replaced with concrete blocks
- Rotten timber approach spans were replaced with steel girders and new timber decking
Objectives Achieved
The work completed
- prevents the collapse of the bridge,
- extends the life of the bridge, and
- keeps the Canol Road open and safe for travellers.
