Carrier Compliance

The primary responsibilities for the Carrier Compliance section are: 

  • To promote the safe and efficient movement of goods and people; and,
  • To promote Yukon's highway infrastructure.

This section enforces Yukon and Federal legislation applicable to the commercial transportation industry. Carrier Compliance also administers transport permits, conducts mechanical and driver inspections, and undertakes mobile weight, dimensions, and commercial driver hours of service enforcement activities throughout the Yukon.

The administrative office is located at the Whitehorse Weigh Station. Carrier Compliance operates from two 24-hour weigh stations at Watson Lake and Whitehorse, with two additional weigh stations in operation on a periodic basis at Haines Junstion and Cassiar Junction.
