Permits for Buses not registered in the Yukon Are issued as follows:
a) Buses with a capacity of over 10 passengers including the driver. Buses going through the Yukon are required to purchase a $25.00 bus permit. They may stop over in the Yukon for as many days as they like as long as they do not discharge or pick-up passengers while in the Territory. Motor Vehicles Act Regulations - Section 15(1)(k)
b) Buses without Yukon registration that are picking up or dropping off passengers in the Yukon require a freight vehicle permit at $60.00 plus $3.00 per tonne based on actual vehicle weight. Motor Vehicles Act Regulations - Section 15(1)(h)
Application Process
This permit is completed and issued by a Carrier Compliance Officer at either the Whitehorse or Watson Lake Weigh Station; therefore no application form is available to fill out.
When applying for this permit, the applicant will be required to supply the following information before the permit will be issued.
